Learn more about Supportive Housing. Supportive housing gets the toughest to house folks off the streets, into housing and surrounded with services. And, amazingly, it saves tax dollars in the process! (Turns out it is less expensive to house folks and provide them with services that encourage independent living than to leave them on the street.)
A great resource is the Corporation for Supportive Housing: these were the folks who made the presentation at our last Commission meeting. Their website has tons of information: http://www.csh.org/. In particular, you might check out these two: http://www.csh.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=Page.viewPage&pageID=344

There is also a very provocative article on our website frrom Denver, Colorado. From http://www.fortworthgov.org/homelessness/ choose Resources, then News & Announcements--it's at the bottom of the page.
Let me know if you have other, specific questions and I will do my best to answer them!
