YOU GO SUZETTE!

I like using the term jobless vagrants or just vagrants. Being homeless isn't the issue. Being homeless is not illegal. Public drinking and intoxication is, using drugs, littering, starting a fire in a barrel and using the land as your toilet is illegal and I'm sick of it.

I realize its not an easy solution but I for one question how long I want to live in a city that allows the vagrants to ''dump'' on our city streets. We don't have enough city workers as it is and to ask them to clean up after these folks is not right.

Suzette, count me in on the camping expedition. If it is legal to camp on city and state property, lets see how long we last on the medium on Camp Bowie or downtown in at the water gardens?

Think that would fly?

Mayor did respond

The Mayor did respond to my request for signs being posted on the site where campers are living on city street easement (Bomar Ave & Grafton - across from the Salvation Army). The signs were posted about 5 days after my email. However, the jobless vagrants are still there....I assume because they know the police or City of Fort Worth can't do anything about it because the ordinance (30.7) doesn't address lying, sleeping, etc. on public property....there needs to be a new ordinance created. Please get involved and let's ask City Council to approve a new ordinance. Please speak before Council and ask that this be done.
