What does improvement mean?
The first thing screaming to be done in Cobb Park is the strict enforcement of all posted directives to park visitors. Alcohol and drugs are rampant. School age street waifs and those who prey on them boom their hip-hop and rap noise from cars. Curfews are not acknowledged or respected and the park entertains visitors every hour of the night. Whores and tricks park and leave evidence of their trysts. In the past ten years every crime mentionable has taken place there including a Travelers' assassination. In a one month period back in 1998, FWPD picked up and arrested over 130 individuals wanted for misdemeanor and felony warrants. From all appearances Cobb Park hasn't changed in the past ten years and I wouldn't enter the park unless armed. The only viable option for this and other city parks is a constant, well-manned, and diligent police presence willing to make the current park patronage aware that they are no longer welcome in our parks and neighborhoods. Lets forego Mendoza's call for prevention and intervention because it's too late. Enforcement is the only reasonable course.

Definition of Improvement?
I guess we will see on Thursday August 30th at First St. John Baptist Church 2401 E. Berry St. 6pm - 730pm. Please attend and bring your comments, concerns, suggestions. I'm sure Ms. Hicks has lots of money to get us what we want so now would be the time to let our voices be heard and we'll see what she does with the information. : )

Park View Needs Resurrection
Can someone who plans on attendance, ask Ms. Hicks about a Park View Police Task Force? Some years ago, a diligent NPO worked with what was known as Park View Patrol. This officer worked earnestly to maintain safety in our city parks on the east side and along with a Park View Code Blue Team of citizens managed to keep the tricks, drugs, alcohol, and other unwanted activities and proclivities away from our parks and children. What happened to these dedicated police and citizens. Park View is no more and we need them more than ever. I can name a dozen parks just north and south of the Lancaster corridor which re presently unsafe for my family and neighborhood children. I can remember a time when this was not always so. Let someone suggest a new Park View!!
