Dear Neighbors,

Foster-Powell has been very business with several projects and issues in recent months.

We have been very active in seeking a memory garden, with comfortable seating, old-fashioned, fragrant flowers and other amenities such as accessible walkways, for placement in Essex Park. Five finalists were selected, but unfortunately for Foster-Powell, the Ed Benedict Park at S.E. 104th & Powell (in Lents neighborhood) was chosen as the happy recipient of the park. We have also been working with O.M. Seafood to develop a good neighbor agreement in their quest to rezone so that they can add a restaurant at their site. A letter of agreement has now been received by the neighborhood. Copies are available if you need more information.

We have been working to develop a land use process. We will be looking at a subcommittee to review land use notices, keeping in mind the need for a quick review time. We will continue this process in December. We are also looking at ideas for getting our more news to neighbors, with more door-to-door fliers and more newsletter contributors. Ideas and volunteers are always welcome.

We are also hoping, as a neighborhood association to have a winter charity project. Please bring your ideas to the December neighborhood association meeting on December 7.

Meetings are always on the FIRST Tuesday of each month from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the St. Anthony Parish Hall, 3618 SE 79th (green and white building at south end of the complex-please use the south door).
