Its bad enough that we have had to live through Katrina and all the personal losses and turmoil.

Since the storm, I have inquired on the phone or in person at Pizza Hut and Dominoes Pizza as to why they will not deliver to us out here in Ocean Beach Estates, St. Andrews and Pine Hurst.

Most of the time you get a young girl on the phone who doesn't know how to answer the question and just says anything to get rid of you, like its too far.

I went to Dominoes twice and made the inquiry. Once I was told that it was a corporate decision and at the same time the Manager on duty also stated it was too far (7 Miles from Gautier) and he also stated business was never very good out here and we were ''POOR TIPPERS''.

Now, NO one delivers out here except Papa John's and the last time I tried to order two large pizza's, they wanted $32.00!!! Needless to say they did not get my business that evening.

Just wanted everyone to know this. I have been having Dominoes and Pizza Hut deliver out here for 13 years. So what happened...for real?

Pizza at the Golf Course

Pick up a pizza at the Golf Course Club House. Better deal and better food than those two.

Pizza Deliveries

Buz, let me first say that I was tired
of paying their prices for pizza, so my
family decided just to stock up on good
quality store pizzas and cook them ourselves. It is a whole lot less expensive and believe it or not, there are some great ''Store Bought'' Pizzas out there. You just have to experiment, since everyone's taste is
different. If they don't want to deliver, then fine, I don't need their product.....

Make your own

We bought a cooking stone things and make our own sometimes.

Recipe:
First pour a beer or wine. For dough, use one cup flour, one tsp salt, 1 pkg yeast, one tsp sugar to feed the yeast. Stir in water a little at a time until it forms dough. Think of a play dough ball. Thinly spread it by hand on stone, and let it rise if you want. Otherwise, cook it whenever you want. Add sauce and toppings (leftovers are good). Cook at the highest heat in your oven until crust turns sufficiently brown and cheese looks like it is about to burn. 15 to 20 minutes in a preheated oven ought to do it.

For sauce, cook down some canned tomato sauce until you are ready to use it. The object is to evaporate most of the water within the available time without scorching the sauce. Spread it thinly over the pizza. The more water in the sauce the more likely your pizza crust will be doughy in the middle. Alternatively, use tomato paste directly from a can, but the taste will be different.

Finish the first round of beer or wine while you wait for the pizza to cook. Be sure second round is good and cold when the pizza is ready.
