profit margin

I was very upset when I saw the direction this 2nd phase was heading in August. Unlike you, I favor the more traditional look. I believed that most of the potential buyers felt the same because the first phase was presented in that fashion. However, I am now a changed person - I have seen the light. There is a market for what I consider to be less than a marketable product - go figure. In any case, I'm okay as long as I know I can sell without a loss. And according to a current bank appraisal, my house has been an excellent investment. I am sorry for those who were sold a ''traditional'' bill of goods and have plans to make this neighborhood their long-term home. That must surely be a disappointment. But, it seems that Kiki is the law. And, as I said before, I'm okay with that as long as his changes don't remove money from my pocket.
education

Anyone who has taken Art History 101 knows about ''modernism''. The point that has been missed in this on-going argument is that a major shift has occurred since the inception of this development. Those who were attracted to and therefore invested in the original ''traditional'' concept have been mislead. Naturally, the reaction is going to be negative, especially for those who have purchased what they believed to be their ''dream home''. If you had invested your life savings in a development that was advertised to be focused on modernism and suddenly saw a shift toward ''faux'' whatever I would imagine you might do a little moaning yourself. Perhaps I'm wrong. Maybe you're a completely open-minded individual who realizes that there are even ''faux'' modernists out there. I only have a smattering of an art background - but I've spent a lot of time studying psychology and working in the international business arena (in other words, I've been around the block more than a few times). I'm trying to understand the neighborhood dynamics of which I am now a part. I prefer peace and I choose to try to accept the reality of this situation. I would, however, appreciate not having anything forced on me under the guise of ''intellectual'' artsy-f--tsy dialog.

Also sincerely,
Charlene Roberts

Public Symposium

The Prospect Architectural Committee is currently organizing a moderated
symposium on the architectural design of Prospect and the broader issues
it seems to have engendered. We are announcing it here to gauge public
interest in the idea, and would like to solicit feedback from residents
and builders in Prospect on the potential participants and agenda.
Please respond here or call Kiki at 303/776-6365 to discuss further.

A note on civility in debate: there is a distinct difference between
expressing a considered opinion--however forcefully--and just lashing
out in frustration or confusion. The former is constructive, painful or
not, but the latter is always, and only, destructive. Remember too that
anonymity is a two edged sword. It might embolden the meek to
contribute in ways they otherwise would not, but it also casts those
contributions in an inherently negative light. A community is a
group--and ideally a synthesis--of individual, accountable
personalities, and an anonymous correspondent is a less than whole
member of it.

Sincerely, Kiki and Mark

Yep

I would definitely be interested in attending. Additionally, I think it's probably the only way for people to come to some feeling of resolution about the issue.

As for attendants, Kiki and Mark should be attendants, of course. Perhaps some of the other town planners that live in Prospect should be contacted about being attendants, as well.
