If you think the trustees ''rule'' the town, you are uneducated about how government in the U.S. works. The trustees represent the majority interests of the residents of their wards.

Revenue Comment - FEAR

Observation of what happens in the real world shows the opposite to be true. It is clearly and advantage for a community to concentrate its finances. This was particularly evident in the recent fight between the Arapahoe county citizens and the residents of Greenwood Village. As a result, Centennial was formed, and the revenue sources of the County have severely decreased. (Marie noted this in her recent letter to Foxfield). It is to our advantage to keep our revenue (and future revenue) within our community. If what you said were true, both Greenwood Village and Centennial would want to un-incorporate so they can improve their services.
