DISBAND TOWN - WHY NOT?

Posted in: Foxfield
If we return to Arapahoe County the county will maintain our roads properly. They have the talent, equipment, manpower, and money to do the job right. If the county decides to pave our roads we may still end up having to pay for it but we will never again have to pay for the maintenance of them. Some estimates to put down recycled asphalt properly (not like Richfield is now), have it rolled and sealed (just like Jordan Rd. North of Arapahoe) would run about $100,000 per mile instead of the $300,000 we were quoted in the last election. Hmmm, 1/3 the cost for a GREAT PAVING JOB. Sounds good to me.

Oh yes, by the way, should you choose to build an addition onto your house or construct an additional garage, you will only have to pay Arapahoe County and not both the county and Foxfield.

We will not be eligible for any Conservation Trust Funds for open space, trails or park within our present boundaries. SO WHAT. Have any of us seen an open space developed (that is laughable)? Have any of us seen a trail constructed (equally laughable)? Have any of us seen a park constructed (again very humorous)?

The ability to gate our community would go away. AGAIN, SO WHAT. Do any of us really think this town could afford a gated community? How would it work logistically with the delivery trucks, trash trucks, mail, guests and an assortment of other traffic? How would the parishoners of Our Lady or Loretto access their multi-million dollar new facility? Would each of them need the ''code'' to get in. When someone brings up gateing the town, please laugh them off your property.

Please consider all these as simply just one neighbors opinion. But do consider them.
