On August 25, 2005 the Board of Historic Fort Worth, Inc. selected the Garden of Eden Neighborhood Association for a Citation of Merit Award for the establishment of a Local Historic District, for being designated as the 2004 Neighborhood of the Year, and for coverage about the preservation work in the "Medallion" (Texas Historic Commission magazine), and "Preservation Online" (National Trust magazine).
The award ceremony was held on October 5, 2005 at 7:00PM at the Samuel Benton Cantey, III Preservation Lecture in "The Gallery" at the Fort Worth Central Library, 500 West 3rd Street
On December 3, 2005, the Graden of Eden NA received the Spirit of Fort Worth award for outstanding achievement initiating social revitaliization efforts in the neighborhood. This award represents commitment to the community and helps to make Fort Worth a great city in which to live. The award was presented by Mayor Mike Moncrief, Eva Bonilla, Presidentof the Fort Worth League of neighborhood Associations and Matthew Hudson, Chairperson of the Fort Worth Neighborhood Education Center.
