Boarders

Would you rather the kids were hiding behind the river wall smoking dope, vandalizing the Park, disrespecting neighbors, stealing bikes, etc.?
This cetainly could be an alternative if they were not good kids and are not allowed to have some wholesome fun during the nice weather. Wholesome fun + Goodkids=Positive Assets To the Neighborhood!
When we were kids we played ball in the street and even skateboarded on our ''old school'' boards in our own neighborhood which was for me Piggsville.
There are not many places to skateboard around here. Skate Parks are expensive, Merrill Park is dangerous (I'll take kids skateboarding in the street in their own neighborhood to skateboarding at Merrill and taking a bullet), and you cannot skateboard in much of any public places OR Parks like Valley Park.
Perhaps kids and neighbors have to work it out together so the kids can skate here.

I do not agree with the statement made by Valley Neighbor regarding the kids skateboarding on 40th:
''Whey you go to drive past, they don't move, they just look at you like they're annoyed you're interrupting them.''
I was in and out of the neighborhood at least 3 times each day his weekend coming and going from my home on 40th.
I passed the kids who were on 40th each time and they were very quick to move out of the way of my vehicle and some even smiled and waved. I think perhaps we should watch the situation over the next week or so and see how frequent they are out on 40th and if there is truly a problem.

Must be nice!

It must be nice to have only skateboarding kids as the problem on your block. I'll trade you the wanna be gangbangers and drug traffic that seems to be going on around my block.

Ya never know what ya got till it's gone. I agree with the others, I've come thru them skateboarding and they are respectful kids. Their kids!

Take a walk around some of the other blocks in the valley, and when you get home I think you'll have a refreshing outlook on skateboarding kids who choose to stay close to home!

I also saw them them the other day. They were all very respectful. As soon as they saw me driving they starting yelling CAR, so that everyone could get out of the way. It was a nice change from the other neighborhood kids that don't have that respect.
