On june 2, 1999, Betty Allen, Assistant Director of Planning and Zoning (Douglas County), wrote to the GVEHOA President. "On June 1, 1999 the Douglas County Board of Adjustment approved the request of the Grand View Estates lot owners for a variance to the minimum lot size of 2.3 acres to keep live stock and small animals..."
1 animal unit will be allowed on a lot minimum of 43,oo sq. ft. (1 acre).
2 animal units will be allowed on a lot minimum of 65,000 sq. ft. (1.5 acres).
3 animal units will be allowed on a lot minimum of 86,000 sq. ft. (2 acres).
"All other zoning regulations pertaining to the keeping of animals shall apply, e.g setbacks, maximum devegitated area, manure remaoval, maximum number of poultry/fowl and small animals, boarding/training. (PLease refer to section 24 of the Douglas County Zoning Resolution, as amended.)"
