Grandview Estates is part of unincoporated Douglas County. Law enforcement is provided by the Douglas County Sheriff (neighbor Michael L. Acree). Without a city or town government our first elected official is County Commissioner, District 1, Walter W. Maxwell.
In addition to the State Wide office holders (Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State, and Treasurer), Grandview Estates is represented in the General Assembly (legislature) by Mike May (representative, district 44) and by John Evans (Senate district 30).
Colorado's Senators are:

- Wayne Allard
Grandview's member of congress (House of Representatives) is Tom Tancredo (District 6).

The Grandview Estates Home Owner's Association (GEHA) represents the community interests of residents and homeowners. Grandview Estates perpetuates the rural lifestyle as one of the oldest horse acreage communities in Colorado, dating back to the 1950s.
The object of this Organization shall be to encourage Members to work for the betterment of Grandview Estates.
(1) The basic goals shall be to promote the quality of life, responsible growth and development in and around Grandview Estates and preservation of the rural life style.
The covenants of Grandview Estates shall be no more restrictive than the zoning resolution of Douglas County.
