Community Relations Workshop

On July 24 & 25, 2000, the Grant Park Association in conjunction with the City of Tampa, Department of Community Affairs, the Tampa Police Department, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department and the Florida Department of Corrections - Probation and Parole Services, held a Community Relations Workshop.

The workshop was attended by residents of the area, law enforcement officers from the Tampa Police Department, Hillsborough County Sheriff's Department and Probation and Parole. Also in attendance were individuals from DACCO, a local alcohol and drug treatment facility.

The workshop is designed to have imput from all who attend. To share how law enforcement officers feel, how they would like the public to see them. To share how a drug or alcohol addict feels and what a community can do to assist them in the return to the communities.

Overall, for everyone in attendance to share and to find out what it take for a community to come together, to serve each other and become a strong union in the fight for a better neighborhood.
