Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know that August of 2000, for Grant Park will close with some major saturation to our area. Both the Tampa Police Department and Hillsborough County Sheriff?’s Department has conducted a joint drug enforcement activity in Grant Park.
On August 30 & 31, 2000, TPD?’s QUAD Squad and HCSO Street Crimes Unit has saturated the Grant Park area in an effort to detect and apprehend the local street level drug dealers.
Hopefully some arrest will be made in regard to this saturation and a strong message will be sent to the drug dealers that it will not be tolerated in Grant Park. This action however is only one step in the over all process. The law enforcement agencies are working hard to promote a crime free community in Grant Park. They can accomplish a lot however; it takes each and every resident of Grant Park to do their part as well.
I urge you all, take pride in your neighborhood. Most of you should be able to see where Grant Park has come from over the past year or so. You all know the problems and you all have seen these problems being taken care of as law enforcement and other agencies can get to them.
The stronger the community comes together and the more the numbers grow in the neighborhood association, the easier it will be to facilitate certain projects and get programs up and running.
Grant Park has seen a tremendous spurt in new homes being built, which means new people coming to buy and live in Grant Park. When you see a new person or family move in, do the neighborly thing. Go introduce yourselves to them, take them some cookies or a gift basket, tell them about the Grant Park Neighborhood Civic Association and by all means invite them to attend. Remember, where there are numbers, there are answers.
