After the meeting I made a sudgestion of what the cost for digging a well.  This would be Community owned and the only cost after the digging of the well would be the electricity and upkeep.  There would be an expense of hooking into the already existing watering system.  I have never had a well dug before but I could almost bet if we needed 4 wells around the community they all could be paid off in a years time.  Please keep in mind, I believe the board can not spend over $10,000.00 without a vote from the Community.

The wells are a great idea. Hopefully we can get a response on this idea. :)

The water saving sprinkler heads are about $12 each at Ewing. I have them and have saved $20 per month in my yards- regular bill for me is about $75 right now, so quite a savings. They are simple to change out- takes about 2 minutes each one. Mine actually sprays farther than what I had previously, so I was able to cut my watering time down as well. :)

If anyone has contact information for the Tot Lot company we use, please let me know. I want to use the same cleaning supplies they use on the play equipment at the parks. I asked Oasis, but didn't get the information and when I called the office was told I should talk to Brett. Of course, he was not available. Still waiting. Wish me luck. :)

To add something positive, I am glad that there are people here who care enough about our community to get angry and heated up when the law is broken. It is refreshing to know that there are people no longer willing to settle for inadequate management. :)

Kachina did work better with me and were never afraid to answer my questions. Just food for thought...

Wells are very expensive to drill. Also the water table is deep.Upkeep on wells are constant,as well as infrusturcte in the ground,as well as fire hydrants. The Corp. comm. as well as AZDEQ regulates water systems in AZ.

Does anyone have any idea on the cost of drilling and maintaining a well?  I am guessing, from talking with others, cost of drilling does depend on how far they have to drill, but an average of $10,000.00 to $20,000.00 per site.  I would not think it would cost more than $5,000.00 for the pump, not sure on the upkeep.  If we needed 4 wells throughout the community they would pay for themselves in a matter of 1 to 1.5 years.  How much in water did we pay last year ? $110,000.00

If wells were drilled would we need to purchase water from H2o for anything else ?
