A DOUBLE "AMEN" to that, however I don't think "speed bumps" are the answer because they sometimes cause more trouble than solution, including the already mentioned response vehicle inconvenience and the snow removal issue.

I think that increased patrols and our Graymoor/Devondale Police action is certainly warranted, since the incredible traffic jam created by school traffic drivers seriously blocks traffic between Bedford Lane and Westport during pickup and delivery times. I have narrowly avoided no less than three head-on accidents. I have lived here since 1956 and seen the development of St. Albert's, which was never designed to serve the number of parishoners or students that it handles today. The schoolday pickup/delevery traffic has become nothing short of abominable and is certainly an affront to all property owners between Bedford Lane and Westport Road. Since we have all those nice new Police vehicles it would be nice to see them out on the steets of our subdivision more often.

Yes, yes. I live near the intersection of Devondale and Boxwood. There is a stop sign there. Every morning app.7:20 to 8:00 cars, which cut thru from Westport to Herr speed down Devondale and one of 5 stop at the stopsign. Never seen the police there at that time in the morning.  Some child will eventually get hurt there.

I couldn't agree more. The "cut thru" traffic is an issue and will become more of one when the VA hospital  is completed. However, the St. Albert's traffic is the "real" problem every day that school is in session. I'd certainly love to see more of our police cars on the street instead of parked nicely behind the City Building. I sometimes get called out late at night and return even later and I have only seen one of our Police cars once or twice in 20 years! As far as a "police presence" is concerned ... we simply don't have one.

What is the "hard work" that St. Albert's is doing concerning the abominable traffic on Gerard and other side streets? There are more narrowly missed head-on collisions when that traffic backs up than one can count, to say nothing of the poor residents who can't get out of their own driveways

Also, please tell me when you see our Graymoor Police rolling around "patrolling" our streets ... any of them??!! I haven't seen a police car or officer on my street since Eric Estrada was riding a police motorcycle in Los Angeles!!!

In earlier days of Graymoor (I've lived here since 1956), after our police department was formed, we actually had routine "patrolling' of our streets. These days, I usually see our fleet of pretty new police cars parked in back of City Hall most of the time. We could use up some citation books just issuing for violations concerning school traffic and the constant speeding thru our sub-division.
