Those darn freestanding basketball hoops have taken residence on our community sidewalks 'Everywhere'! With the nicer weather here, it would be nice to be able to walk on the sidewalk's instead of the street. Was the purpose of having a sidewalk for walking or netting a ball? Maybe we should rename the contraptions 'sidewalk hoops'and our community street's 'walkstreets'? What? You want to know where to drive your car? How about right into those hoops!

I agree these basketball hoops are a problem. It is not easy to manuever a stroller around all of these. Also when the young children ride their bikes they need to go into the street out of the hoops way which is very dangerous. Something needs to be done.

The problem with the hoops is that people leave them on the sidewalk. We have one, and since they are portable, we move it off the sidewalk when not in use. I agree that walking over or around these things is a real pain- please think of your neighbors.

You should NEVER have it on the sidewalk, and garbage should never be there either on pickup day. It is not very difficult to make an effort to keep it in the bottom corner of your driveway. Even Waste Managment only requires you to place your bins within 4 feet of the curb. Come on people, let's be a little smarter about our community.
