Air soft guns

Posted in: Towne Lake Hills South

We are pleased to see the article on air soft guns in the new Town Crier. It lets us know that we are not the only ones concerned. The article mentions that the young men who play these games are often not in their own yards, but in neighbor yards, and speculates as to whether these young men may have been invited to play, or given permission to play in the yards of others. We would like for everyone to know that we have NEVER given these young men permission to play on any part of our lot. We have REPEATEDLY asked them to stay out of our front yard, back yard and drive-way as they play the war games. Because our courteous requests have been largely ignored, we recently fenced our back yard in an effort to keep them out, an expensive step for retirees living on a fixed income. Even though the back yard is now relatively safe, our drive-way and front yard have remained in the middle of their "battle zone." We have recently spoken directly to parents of two of these young men and told them that we wanted the young men to stay out of our front yard and drive-way and to stop shooting the air soft guns toward any of our property, autos, etc. We honestly have no desire to take any further action about this, and we trust that these parents will be responsive. We want to thank the board members for spotlighting the issue and outlining the potentially serious problems that could result.
