About our association

HECHO is a non-profit corporation organized in 1997 and is run by Highland residents and business owners. HECHO developed in response to the dramatic changes occurring in Highland. Our desire is to ensure that Highland remains culturally and economically diverse. We believe that achieving this reuires the community's involvement in shaping our future together. HECHO believes that the people of Highland have the talents and desire to make Highland what we dream of.

Today, residents, business owners and organizations are working together to achieve shared dreams and to address major concerns regarding affordable housing, economic development, safety, youth and education in Highland.

HECHO's role is to bring neighbors together to share commons dreams and issues and to take action. HECHO supports community's action plans with various resources that help the community achieve their action goals.
