Their major purpose is to entertain audiences with music, dance and theatrical performances that are enjoyable and enlightening.
The Umoja H.O.P.E. Performers believe in quality performances that demonstrate dignity, respect and integrity while creating a memorable atmosphere of fun and entertainment.
The Umoja H.O.P.E. Performers project is open to all youth from ages 6 - 17 living in Baltimore City and attending school regularly. Because we do not want any child that has the desire to be a participant in the Umoja H.O.P.E. Performers, not be given the opportunity, we do not charge any fees to participants. However, all performers are expected to be committed to the continuing success of the group by actively participating in the planning, sponsoring and supporting of special events.
Parental involvement is an important key to the success of the performers. Therefore, we highly encouraged and invite parental input and are supported by 100% of our participants parents. Classes and practice are Thursday 4:00 to 6:00 PM and Saturdays 1:00 to 3:00 PM, with occasional Tuesdays and Fridays (TBA) Performances are usually on weekends and non- schools days and can be 3-4 hours, or all day adventures.
