Speed Bumps

Posted in: Hamilton Highlands

I know there has been mention of speed bumps throughout the various posts.  I wanted to know if anyone has truely checked into what it takes to get speed bumps put into the neighborhood?

We've got a lot of young children in the neighborhood and a lot of speeding cars.

I like this idea, I think we should look at all the options for speed control in the neighborhood.  Maybe get the radar trailer put in here for a couple weeks.  Or even try to post some signs.  I want every child to stay safe in this neighborhood, but it also starts with the parents teaching their kids to respect traffic and not play in the road.  Also I've grown up here I know how it feels to get your license and drive 100mph everywhere you go Sealed but these are our kids and our families so SLOW DOWN! I've also learned 10 minutes late has never killed anyone, but speeding has.  We also have a huge field in the back of the neighborhood lets use it, seems a little safer than the road.

We live near the Hanning Rd entrance.  On one side of us there is the entrance.  On the other side is the curve that everyone tends to drive around at top speed.  Simply trying to cross the street to play with kids on the other side is dangerous.  They fly around the curve and are at your feet in no time, even when you think it's clear.  That curve is really scary.  We hear squeeling tires around the curve all of the time - too fast!

There are 20 kids (mostly 6 and under) between the 9 houses betweent he curve and the entrance.
