Thanksgiving...a time to appreciate our blessings of life and loved ones, celebrate and pay homage to our great nation's birth. Here are also some interesting tid-bits to share over your holiday meal...

88% of Americans eat turkey on Thanksgiving.

The heaviest turkey ever raised was 86 pounds.

A 15 pound turkey usually has about 70 percent white meat and 30 percent dark meat.

Turkey has 8% more protein and less fat than chicken or beef.

Benjamin Franklin referred to the turkey as a "bird of courage" and proposed it as our national bird.

Happy Thanksgiving + also Happy Hanukkah celebrations for all on the 28th.
