Hazard maps for emergency preparation planning

Posted in: Glendora Emergency Response Communications

Prepare for the Emergency Preparedness Fair on 3 Mar 2012 at the Glendora Stake Center, by looking at the potential hazards for your home, work place, and common travel routes in your daily routine.  Then you can focus your information needs based on knowing the potential hazards you face for your particular location.

Flood Hazard Map: This is a searchable map (input address, city, state) to get a flood risk color coded map.  I suggest you also then zoom out to see how your location fits in the "big" picture.  Find the map at www.realestateindustrynews.com/interatice-flood-map/

Wild Fires: This map show current wildfires for the US.  Information of specific fires are also found on the same site. www.activefiremaps.fs.fed.gov

Earthquakes: Current earthquakes are show for the US at this site (other parts of the site show quakes around the world). www.earthquakes.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww
