I write in response to recently revealed plans to build a parking lot for UA commuters at the corner of Hedrick & Mountain. At previous HANA meetings, we were told the area would be a park, not a parking lot. A park preserves the community fabric by allowing neighbors to meet casually. A parking lot not only deprives us of an open space that historically has been by used by locals for exercising their dogs, but disrupts the neighborhood with increased traffic and pollution. I urge all HANA residents let our elected officals know of our opposition to UA parking. Don't let our neighborhood become an UA parking lot!
