Alot of residents don,t realize that hickory woods owns a large plot of parkland behind the houses on Clifton and Ponderosa. I think it would be a great addition to the neiborhood for our children and parents to play or visit. If kids want to play baseball, football or tennis now they have to bike or drive approx 2-3 miles out of Hickory Woods. I went to my first and only meeting 19 years ago and was told directly by one of our outstanding neibors that a park would never happen before I advised him to get out of my face. I found out later that this person was one of 10 or more of the homeowners at the meeting, whose rear property faces the possible park. Its to late for my children but it sickens me to watch kids all over the neiborhood playing soccer, baseball and football in the streets. There were 4 of us with kids who wanted a place for them to play and and 10 or more residents whose problems were that the park would be in their back yard and shady kids would hang there. Thats one reason we pay police to respond to suspicious people. Its not to late for your young children if you want a park in hickory woods.
