Highland Acres/Lakeside Heights

Hi everyone,

I wanted to make you aware of a notice I received from the city regarding a request for a Full Liquor By the Package with Sunday License from a company called Big Dog Liquor.  The location of this new store is nestled right in between residental homes along North Oak, [11513 N Oak] and backing up to properties on N. Cherry St. 

As I understand there will be many changes taking place along that stretch of North Oak and Cookingham Rd in the coming months, I'm not sure I agree that a liquor store is a great addition to that area at this time.  My main concern is maintaing property values for everyone in close radius.  I have posted the notice I received as well.

That issue was addressed and to our knowledge it did not attain enough signatures to receive approval.  Both HA/LH and the neighbors across N Oak worked to prevent a liguor store from existing in the area, especially so close to the school.  As of now, we have not heard of any other requests, but if you receive another notice for something like this please let us know.
