Bring UNITY back to the commUNITY!

We, the officers of the association, have adopted this slogan for the community. To bring back the days when you went to the back fence and chatted with your neighbors. Went next door to borrow a cup of sugar or an egg. Sat out on your porch and looked out for the children playing in the area. Checked on your neighbors and made sure they were well. Shoveled out a driveway or mowed the lawn for someone who was ill, or unable to do it themselves.
We know that in todays fast paced lifestyles, you often don't have time to spend with your immediate family, let alone a neighbor. But sometimes all it takes is a kind smile and a wave to let someone know that they are cared for.

We had a wonderful time at the Christmas party last year. It was held at the Township Red Barn and we received a visit from Santa and his Elf. (Don Hockenberry and Kathryn Behm) All the children received a gift from Santa and a loot bag from the association. We were able to give out many door prizes as well. Thank you to all our area business supporters, Jennifer and Cathy.

About our association

Highland Estates I Association

The association was formed in 1995, as a result of thefts in the area and the need for a Crime Watch. Crime Watch signs and two additional stop signs were installed and we participate in National Night Out yearly. We worked with the Lower Allen Police and have been strongly supported by them ever since. Bi-laws and officers were elected. Past presidents include, Ray Roth, Sue Fortney, Chris Pearson, Ken Miller and Jennifer Nelson.
Through the efforts of the association and the township, the new playground equipment, benches and the notice board were installed at the park. We have recently added a H.E.A Comment Box for members convenience. We hold many activities at the park, Easter Egg Hunt, National Night Out, Halloween Party, and Block Party to name a few. In the past, we have tried to be involved with the community by working at the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and recycling telephone books. We collected a total of 187 telephone books in 1999 and 2001. We have published and distributed 3 directories, and will be sending out an updated one for 2008. We do much more!!!
