  • Respect-O-Meter: Valued Neighbor

Good afternoon!

I think it would be beneficial if in the next news letter we mention keeping our front yards nice and neat.  It's amazing how some of our neighbor’s really put time and effort in adding curb appeal to their homes.  Thank you Thank you!  We all know this adds value to the entire neighborhood and to all of us individually. I’m sad to say but a few homes in the neighborhood should really be addressed though because they have horrible landscaping.  I hate to point figures but I am amazed... one is even a police officer with a 4 month old DEAD lawn???!

It’s really critical now we all take pride in our homes or a least in what the public sees especially with the amount of short sales and foreclosures that have recently taken place all around us. I hate to think how much my home has depreciated and will continue if we don’t keep the entire neighborhood looking at least above avg.

I also feel maybe we could spend a little less money on the100 tons of mulching that takes place in the neighborhood and add a few more pine trees or other tree’s here, there or everywhere.  Please at least in the 2nd entrance on the small hill (right as you turn left up on the small hill directly in front of you before the curve to the right) you’ll see the tiny planted trees that all seem to be dead surrounded by mulch. I would also think if you had a home close to the entrances you would take pride in your yards as well for all of us.

Just a thought…..

I agree that it is a shame that all residents do not take pride in their homes. It is a sign of disrespect towards all neighbors when someone chooses not to take care of their home. 1223 Beckley Hills Court is a fine example of someone that simply DOES NOT CARE ABOUT ANYONE AROUND THEM. The owner has a dead lawn and does not cut his weeds until they are kneehigh. This home owner also leaves the garbage cans in the street all week and keeps items in the side lawn that are clearly visible from the street. What a terrible impression on cars that pass by.

I also wonder where the $300 association fee is spent. We have no pool, and the landscaping is minimal at best (wherever it is alive). This neighborhood is an embarassing place to live.

This board is getting lively.  I encourage you all to attend the annual meeting and voice your concerns or contact the management company. When ever I have had  issues they were happy to get feedback.  I think we have had about 5 - 10 people max at the last two annual meetings.
