Entering our area -Belt line Road-Slums????

Posted in: Coomer Creek

Has anyone else noticed how unsightly the broken down brick walls of the Meadow Crest develpment along Beltline Road looks? It certainly makes the area look trashy. Driving down Beltline from Jupiter is such an eyesore. Why is it that the older area of Garland  near Garland High School and passed that, has well kept medians while our medians are not. Also, the old gas station turned beer wine building at Beltline and NorthGarland should be knocked down. What an entrance to our neighborhood! Looks like the slums.

Thank  you.I agree .This applies to the whole condition from Beltline/Garland Rd to Glenbrook. The Chamber of Commerce has about a one million dollar subsidy from us as tax payers and it is to include revitalizing old shopping center.By the was , the gas station/ beer is closed .The fight club that was set up at the old UA8 is closed thanks to our PD. I have talked with several neighborhood associations who face the same problems of shopping centers, no investment if streets and walls and much more.I would like to see the Chamber be used to produce - more then talk.

Who does the wall belong to?  I thougth those walls were the repsonsiblity of the neighorhood HOA?

Regarding the gas station - I called agian last week, due to tall grass and trash, and spoke to the commercial side of Code Enforcement. The guy said he was working with the owner, that lives out of state, to maintian the property.  Two days later the grass was mowed. Regarding the trash the piles up beside the Dart bench, he is trying to get Dart to put a waset barrel there.  When I asked Garland to put one there they acted like they shouldn't have to. I'm so tired of Garland NOT taking a proactive approach.

Anyway, please cal1 Code and keep the pressure on to keep out area looking halfway decent.  The shopping strip at 109 Beltline is another area that waits until the grass is 2 feet high.
