Just heard  on the news this morning that two city councilmen are proposing a "tent city" at the old Floriland mall for vagrants because the city still has a two year lease on it.  They have moved the tag office and tax collectors offices and have a bunch of empty space.  They want to put a tent city here to use up the space.

I dont know about you but this idea is horrible!! I have almost hit two vagrants that hang out at the CVS on Busch twice in the last month.....not to mention all the shopping carts and bags cluttering Florida Ave......We are trying to clean up this area!!!! This will surely bring property values down......I for one am against this proposal.

Havent heard when any forums are to discuss this but I would sure like to be there to protest it......If you hear of anything please let me know........

Click on that and you have the option to email the entire board, which I did. Our grid has enough to contend with, a sexual offender half way house, the ghetto nearby, the trailer parks nearby, sulphur springs right down the street, the highest # of sexual offenders/predators in the county - give me a break!! This is the last thing we need.  Please spread the word everyone. this cannot happen.  Email the commissioners and protest this, I'm fully prepared to march up and down Florida Ave (next to the homeless) to protest this. This just cannot happen. Time to step up people, protect what's yours!

A sexual offender half-way house in Grid 10?  Where? I know Dr. Guest's old office next to del Rio Pool is a drug-rehab facility.
