BusySpring Creek Streets...complaints

Posted in: Homeowner

CryI have had some complaints and seen some problems over the years since, I moved in with the Spring Creek and Ashborne addition streets with driving/speed limits. My husband orginial worked on this issue many years ago and the city claimed not a problem.  So, I contact the city and State representative, we did do an evualtion and are waiting on the results. Also-car accident occurred nearby the two additions above to create even more safety hazards with our roads, too.

Yet, here are some emails-for f.y.i:

Thank you Ms. Spiller.

I would be happy to re-evaluate the traffic conditions in the neighborhood and evaluate the warrants for speed humps. Please let me know if this is something that you want us to do.

Thanks so much,

Gary

Beth:  I will forward your request to the Engineering Dept and get moving on this right away.  For the dogs, there is a lease law on the books in Carmel and all should be on leases, if not, call the police dept and report the violators (571-2500).

Hi- we seem to have some issues with speeding in our addition of spring Creek, so wondered about signs.  A few years ago, I heard complaints, so it was passed to put up street signs prompted by police department,-" Drive Smart, Kids, Dart."  Also, we have had petition signed 2007-08 by neighbors which was discussed to use theses signs since convent/rules are not allowed to have theses signs in your private property.  I've  heard some incidents with children/drivers and
i've seen kid skate board/riding in the streets-motored mobiles, skates, bikes, etc...
Road rage, teens, otrhers driving careless could cause intial problems.  Please look into this ASAP.

Ms. Spiller,

Thank you for your email about concerns over speeding in Spring Creek. We expect that there was increased traffic along Rippling Brook Way during the closure of the intersection of Cherry Creek Boulevard and Hazel Dell Parkway.

With the opening of the intersection, we expect that the traffic utilizing Rippling Brook Way will normalize to the conditions that existed before the project.

We have evaluated the warrants for the installation of speed humps in your subdivision before. At that time, the warrants for the speed humps in the City Code were not satisfied.

If the conditions persist after the re-opening of Hazel Dell, we would be happy to take additional data and reevaluate the speed hump warrants.

My pleasure. We picked up the counters yesterday and will analyze the data. It might take me a few weeks but I will try to get the results to you ASAP.
