Yes, there still is a Homeowner's Association. It is a legal entity. Unfortunately, it is in name only. There are 168 homes in this subdivision but only a few homeowners concerned about our community. I have no idea how bad the access lot and detention area are at this time because I have not driven by there but I would imagine it's not too good. From what I have researched, the only thing that has changed ( based on the revised code for homeowner associations) is that you cannot file a lawsuit against someone if things were not refiled after the date specified earlier. But guess what people, we have exactly $296.14 in our checking account thanks to the 6 people that paid their dues for this year (with a balance from last year of $76.14). When that is depleted from paying the taxes for the detention/access lot, that land will go to sheriff's sale. And when that goes to sheriff's sale, it is against the Hamilton Highlands Homeowners's Assocation, which is each and every one of you. Considering that each and every homeowner in this community is the "Association", that will be a back mark against you and your home.
