Fliers are being distributed to all Ellerbe Roas Estates residence asking if they want to join our group discussion about Mineral Leasing.

A neighbor told me this morning that I should go by Harkey to sign up and the companies had Just about enough land that they did not need many more people to sign up. Is this true?

I am note an attorney, so take this for what it is worth:
I have been in conference with multiple attorneys, for what that's worth.

1. When 80% of the land in a particular section is leased, the drilling company can proceed with drilling and the other 20% can not stop them.

2. All of Ellerbe Road Estates South of the backyards of Hidden Hollow Dr. is in land Section #17. It appears this section is at or near the 80% leased condition.

3. If you have not leased and they start drilling does not mean you have lost your mineral rights. No one can take your mineral rights away from you without your consent.

4. If you own the mineral rights to land in a section where a well is producing, then you are entitled to your share of the profits.

5. If you never lease your land, then you want get the bonus you hear so much about.

6. The last bonus I have heard of in section #17 was $400/lot. I have heard that the section above #17 has had offers of $1,000/lot.

How do we find out what streets/homes are in section #17? We have not been contacted about leasing yet (we have only been here since May).
