Extreme Halloween Displays

Posted in: Garden City

Despite another request for submissions to use our site to share news, events, etc. with posting where, in the vicinity, one can enjoy Extreme Halloween decorations, not getting any response, I've been out and found a few worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood.

Garden City:

The first block of North Fleming (off Rockville) has 2 sites. One is several inflatables including a giant (green!) skull half way up in a pine tree that can be seen from Rockville Road. The other is across the street and while not as noticeable, the black draping of the front porch recalls the former resident's practice of spooking up the place on Halloween night. Both appear to be preparing for something special coming up, so check them and the following out.

Stout Field area:

EAST of I-70 south of Minnesota St. 4600 W. Beecher

I found several homes in Drexel Gardens, some more extreme than others, but here's a list, all of which lie between Lynhurst and I-70:

4900 Block W. Naomi (amimated props), 5000-5100 W. Melrose, 2000 S. Lynhurst (inflated animated), 4900 W. LeGrande (one of the better displays), 4700 W. Regent (near I-70), 5000 W. Regent.

North of Minnesota St., west of Lynhurst: 1600 S. Manhatten

Fleming Gardens:

800 S. Westbrook, 4500 W Vandalia (north of the railroad and Morris St.) corner of S. Dennison, 1000 S. Fleming St.

Lynhurst:

300 S. Lynhurst (inflatables)

West Indianapolis:

1400 W. McCarty St. (a good porch display), there's usually a couple of houses behind Mary Rigg Center on Westview east of Belmont St.

Hawthorne (near washington Community School):

First block  North Sheffield Ave., first block North Mount St.

WE CARE neighborhood (south of Washington St.):

3000 W. Jackson St. just west of Warman Ave. (Spiders overrun this house)
