Residents in Hope Park are flooding our phone with complaints regarding bulk trash set out early. It is making our neighborhood look like a dumping ground.
It is now a civil infraction to set your trash (this includes leaves, trees, sticks, appliances, boxes, ANYTHING) at the curb earlier than THE NIGHT BEFORE SCHEDULED PICK UP. This means you will have to appear in court, pay a fine, and clean it up!!! This fine could be $100 PER DAY and the fines get higher for repeat offenders. Trash is to be stored IN YOUR BACK YARD UNTIL THE NIGHT BEFORE PICK UP DAY, WHICH IS THE FIRST THURSDAY OF THE MONTH.
This does not mean you should put it on a vacant lot!!!! This is even more disrespectful of the neighborhood as you are not only making the neighborhood look bad, you are illegally dumping on someone else?’s property, and guess what??? The fine for that is $1000 per day, an appearance in court, and you will clean it up!!!
We have had several volunteers step forward to patrol the area and directly report the violations the Mayors office. You are being watched!!!!! You will be reported!!!! You will get a ticket.
This is not a difficult rule to follow!!!!
Storage of courville containers also seems to be a problem. They are to be stored in the BACK YARD, put at the curb after 7:00PM Sunday night, and returned to the back yard before 7:00 the day it has been picked up.
Thank you to those who follow these simple rules.
The ones who not follow?…have a nice day in court!!!!
