STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The purpose of the Hough Neighborhood Association is to unite the interests and promote the welfare of the neighborhood and its residents. The HNA shall be concerned with a variety of matters, including but not limited to: problems affecting the livability of the neighborhood or the community in general.
MEMBERSHIP
The membership of the HNA is open to all residents, property owners, business licensees, and non-profit organizations within the boundaries of the neighborhood, from 15th Street north to Fourth Plain Boulevard, and from Main Street west to the railroad tracks.
HNA meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month EXCEPT August and December, when the annual picnic and the holiday party are held instead.
Meetings are held at the Hough Elementary School Cafeteria. The school is located at 1900 Daniels Street. Meetings begin at 7:00, bring a snack to share and we'll provide the coffee & juice.
The next election for Officers of Hough Neighborhood Association will be in May of 2008.
Officers for the 2008 Year
The “General Meeting Coordinators” of the Hough Neighborhood Association shall be two Co-Chairpersons, a Parliamentarian, Secretary, and Treasurer. The above officers shall preside over all general membership meetings of the Hough Neighborhood Association. The duties of each officer shall be, but are not limited to, the following:
Co-Chairpersons: To act as the primary meeting coordinator and preside over all general meetings of the neighborhood association. This position will be limited to two one year terms.
Parliamentarian: To keep order during meetings and assure that proper procedures are followed for voting issues.
Secretary: To act in conjunction with the officers and keep minutes of all Association general meetings, and to prepare correspondence for the Association.
Treasurer: Maintain the financial records of the Association.
Any member who has attended two regular meetings during the previous 12 months may run for any officer position or for the executive committee.
