We need to keep our eyes open when coming into the neighborhood as there are many children playing around in the afternoons. I think we need to have signs posted that read ''slow down children playing'' throughout the community. This is really serious as someone can get injured or the most unfortunate ''killed''. As I was driving into the neighborhood this week a child just crossed my path all of a sudden, remember that kids sometimes forget that they are crossing the strees but luckily I manage to stop on time and usually I drive slow because I know that there are a lot of children playing in the afternoons. So please help me find someone in the HOA that can help us post signs so others that don't live in the community are aware that there are kids playing. Let's help keep our kids safe by watching them, not only parents but neighbors as well as they are the future of this country.

Been there done that

I asked the HOA at last years meeting about installing some more stop signs, speed bumps, Slow Down - Children at play signs but they told me that the city can and will only handle that. I called the City of Houston about this and they told me they will not install anymore stop signs and will not lay down any speed bumps. They game me some line about emergency vehicles will have trouble with the speed bumps.

I tried AND tired numerous times to have something put in place by the city. Maybe if they receive enough complaints they might do something about it.

Hey from what I see there really is not much Parent supervision out there watching there kids. I always watch my kids when they want to play outside.
I have literally ran out in the middle of the street and scooped up some unsupervised 2-3 year olds from getting runned over in the street. Having the garage open is not supervision. Just my .02 (2 cents)

Signs

Well, not necesarily speed bumps or stop signs, because I agree with the city, it would be a hassle for the emergency vehicles but I think to my knowledge it is the responsibility of the HOA to install these signs, we are not asking 100 of them just a couple, and besides we're paying for them!!! So we at least need to get some signatures going so we can install these signs, I guess they're waiting for a tragedy to happen to get something done. I'm not worried about my kids I'm always outside with them but the others like you said they're ''unsupervised'', but still we got to watch out for each other especially kids that they just want to play and have fun wich i dont blame them, but there are some guys that come visit the community and they just haul away fast.....the signs might not prevent them from running over them but if they read they at least might take precautions..It's just a suggestion!!
