Stray Cats in the Neighborhood

Posted in: Brazos Landing
Some of you may have seen three stray cats wandering around our neighborhood recently. The cats can be nuisance as they like to invade people?’s backyard and occasionally cause property damages. In view of that, I have decided to take on the task of capturing the animals.

As a volunteer at a local animal shelter, I have been getting advice from the shelter on how to capture the cats humanely. The method requires me to lure the cats to my property with food and I will then trap them in cages. Once they are trapped, I will take them to the animal shelter where they will be checked for deceases, sterilized, and adopted eventually. This method, however, does take some time as I have to first gain trust from the animals.

For the time being, please DO NOT feed the cats as that will only encourage them to stay at your property and jeopardize the chance of me catching them successfully. If you happened to see them in your property, please gently scurry them away. Do not try to catch them as that could cause harm to both you and the animals.

Thanks in advanced for your cooperation. Please also feel free to drop me a note for any suggestions you may have.
