The Portland Development Commission and Portland Department of Transportation are currently implementing various street improvements on Killingsworth Street. Implementation is occurring in phases. One phase, scheduled for design in 2008, includes pedestrian improvements to the Killingsworth I-5 overpass. Current pedestrian improvements include the following: sidewalks will be widened, ADA ramps will be included at both ends of the bridge, 3 pedestrian lights will be installed, and a screen will be attached to the barrier. In addition, minor landscaping will be added near the ADA ramps and the road will be reconfigured to allow wide traffic and bike lanes.
