A. City of Coppell Ordinance 91500-A-129 prohibits signs attached to a vehicle advertising the sale of the vehicle where the vehicle is parked in such a way that the sign attracts the attention of or informs persons using the public right-of-way.


Q. What is the city ordinance regarding peddlers and solicitors? Can I prohibit them from coming on my property and placing flyers on my door?
A. City of Coppell Ordinance #92538 regulates home solicitations, charitable solicitations, vending on public rights-of-ways, and handbills. Peddlers and solicitors must obtain a permit from, and register with, the Coppell Police Department. A person desiring that no merchant or other person engage in a home solicitation or place handbills or other advertisement at his/her residence shall exhibit in a conspicuous place upon or near the main entrance to the residence a weatherproof card, not less than three by four inches (3" x 4") containing the word "NO SOLICITORS".

A. City of Coppell Ordinance #97810 requires a person who is fourteen (14) years of age or younger to wear a helmet while operating or riding as a passenger on a bicycle.


Q. Does Coppell have a curfew for minors?
A. Yes. City of Coppell Ordinance #95718 provides curfew hours for those under the age of seventeen (17) years of age, as follows: 11:00 pm on any Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday until 6:00am the following day. 12:01am until 6:00am on any Saturday or Sunday.


Q. We have a stray dog in our neighborhood. Who do I call?
A. To have someone pick up this stray dog, call Animal Control at 972-304-3515


Q. How do I file a claim against the City for damage caused by pot holes, rocks flying out from under mowers and hitting my windshield, etc?

A. If you experience damage to your automobile from pot holes, from rocks thrown into your car by a city operated mower, etc., call the City Secretary Department at 972-304-3669 to obtain a claim form.
