Ms. Josehine Infante CEO of Hunts Point EDC,founded the Neighborhood Navigators as another of the programs of the HPEDC, she secured funds through Community Board Bd. #2 one of the grants from grants provided by Iriquoise Pipe line, for the purchase of two Vehicles, to be used to patrol the peninsula.
She further developed the Neighborhood Navigators through partnership with the 41st pct. of the NYPD and the Guardian Angels alliance and chaplains of LACA.
The Independance foundation provided a grant of $25,000.00 per year for each of a two years pilot project.
Mr. Arnaldo Salinas was hired to Direct the Neighborhood Navigators and served in that capacity for 1 year.
Chaplain Pe?±a took over as Director and serves in that position as a volunteer,without salary. Chaplain Pe?±a has a dedicated and commitment himself to serve this community as a mission.
