LANDSCAPE UPDATE

Aug 17, 2001

Thumbs up to the Evergreen crews & their efforts on cleaning up the tree wells. When Evergreen does the end-of-the-season shrub trimming, I will ask them to trim the shrubs way back (as short as possible). In doing so, I hope the shrubs will fill in more than up next year.

I have contacted the CSU Horticulture Dept. about Indian Hills West being a Senior Horticulture Class Project. The class would work with us on designing a long-range landscape plan.

Priorities for such a plan include: identifying those plants that have matured past their prime; keeping as many of the present shrubs/plants/trees as possible; selecting replacement plants that are attractive and easy to maintain; making the plan; multi-stage so everything doesn?t have to be done at once.

Keeping in mind that we will be developing a long-range landscape plan, as dead shrubbery is removed, it will not be replaced immediately but will be replaced as part of the landscape plan. The Landscape Committee will continue to keep the good of the Indian Hills West Community our primary focus: which includes staying within the confines of our budget.
