my bad

After reading my post I would like to clarify one point or comment I made. I do not in any way mean to imply that the folks with the wrecked SUV in their drive are without pride for their porperty or expectations of what their property will yield. These words were perhaps a poor choice on my part. As a board member, I drive through our neighborhood almost every day and see what is good and bad and can detect a trend to the seedy side when I see it. While the wrecked vehicle is only one at this point, the multiple vehicles parked on the road that you mentioned and the ones we have had towed and marked that sit on the road are indeed a problem. If we let one go we must let them all go, what do you prefer? We as a board are deciding what stand we will take in the future about problems like this. If we remain reticent or non-.commital about these infractions that only welcomes more of the like. We are always willing to listen to thoughts and ideas from our community, please let us know how you feel.
storage of inoperative vehicle

Dear Anonymous,

This is an issue to be taken seriously, and is also a violation of the Neighborhood covenants and restrictions.

I would recommend that you download and review the rules that all neighbors must abide by. There is a link on the main page of this website to the Covenants. The one that pertains to this matter is Section 6.12. It states ''The repair or storage of inoperative motor vehicles or material alteration of motor vehicles shall not be permitted on any lot unless entirely within a garage.....''

You may not think this is an issue, but it does do an injustice to the appearance of our neighborhood.

I do agree with you on your other point regarding the blocking of sidewalks. If this is against any city ordinance, there might be something we can do about it.

SUV or Not SUV?

There seems to be much discussion about this SUV with no action being taken. We agree there needs to be guidelines followed to maintain the look of the neighborhood. What we do not understand is no action seems have been taken by the board but, they are quick to write letters about wood or sandbags next to a garage door for a cuople of days. Where is the priorities? We have seen several times where a neighbor has left branches, furniture and trash at the curb for weeks at a time. Again, where are the priorities?
A Little More Information

The priorities would be to make sure we as a neighborhood and nieghborhood board serve the people who live here in the best way we can by law and good judgement. Now let's address the situation, the house with the SUV in the driveway and now the fence in complete disrepair is in foreclosure. Unfortunate, but a sign of the times when given the opportunities to over extend. As I understand it, this is a common practice to unload other forclosed items at the property until the litigation is complete waiting on the judgements. The bad part is we are forced to live with it and look at it every day unlike the folks that towed it there in the first place. The fact is the vehicle is basically up for grabs, anybody who wants to tow it away, has until the sheriffs sale until it is even noticed. As I understand it one of our neighbors has complained to the board of health and they are going to tow the vehicle soon. We as a board are aware of most things in our neighborhood, I personally drive through daily and am concerned with the direction our neighborhood is heading. If anyone has ideas of how to send us back to the correct path, please let us know by contacting our HOA.
