My husband and I are new Farley neighbors and I was wondering about any kind of noise ordinance that exists in Farley. From what I have noticed, if there is one, it is not obeyed. We have neighbors that have dogs that are out at all times of the early morning and very late evening. They constantly bark and I'm not even sure if the owners are aware or if they are concerned about their neighbors feelings on this issue. Like I said, we are new and don't want to burn any bridges. Also there are a couple of kids that ride a hideously loud scooter through the neighborhood, as I'm sure everyone is aware. Is there anything that can be done about either issue?

First, let us welcome you to Farley Neighborhood. We will be glad to send you a ''welcome'' packet with helpful information once we have your name and address.

A recent newsletter described the types of motorized vehicles (excluding cars and trucks) that are allowed on city streets. I will be happy to include that issue in your welcom packet. It covers all types of scooters, go carts, mopeds, etc.

Regarding barking dogs: If you are annoyed by barking dogs, you may call the Marion County Animal Control division at: 327-1380 to make a complaint. Specific information regarding the exact location of the animal is required. You may also be asked about the times of day the animal is barking, etc. You may also be asked your name, address and telephone number.

Farley Neighborhood Association is a voluntary membership organization.We do not have enforced covenants since the neighborhood was established about 50 years ago before covenants were commonly established by the builders of development. We do abide by and seek enforcement of Marion County and Indianapolis City Codes. Farley Neighborhood Association will assist residents with information about existing codes.
