12/4/02 Back Porch Lights
Dec 4, 2002
On Wednesday December 4th at approximatly 5am a suspicious vehicle was noticed parked on Inishmore Dr. The suspect had walked between the houses onto Leith Ct. and was attempting to break into a vehicle. The witness immediatly notified the Sheriff's Dept. and a K9 unit was dispatched. The suspect was not found, but evidence was retrieved by the Sheriff's Dept. that has been linked to this incident. We will follow up with the Sheriff's Dept. for any updates on this case. Our community wishes to thank this witness for getting involved, and making our community safer. This is our crimewatch at work! Daniel Ahlbrand Crimewatch Coordinator

Thanks & Back Porch Lights Dec 8, 2002
A big thanks to whomever reported this incident to the authorities! We are lucky to have folks willing to take action like that. I would like to encourage residents to turn on their back porch lights during overnight hours. I believe most of our houses are equipped with automatic lights in front, keeping the streets fairly well-lit, but it can get pretty dark in back between the rows of houses. We and several of our neighbors have begun to turn on our back lights overnight since hearing of the 12/4 incident. It adds just enough light to an otherwise dark area to hopefully make potential intruders feel uncomfortable.

Super Idea Dec 11, 2002
John, a great idea! We noticed also a few weeks ago that the back of the homes are very dark. We started turning ours on too.. just too keep the potential problems down or from happening. It does provide an element of security. Darkness protects the intruders.. anything we all can do will give potential protection to all. Many thanks for the comments.. and keep them coming everyone! Sincerely, Daren Porter, VP CCP Homeowners Assoc
