Hey everybody, check out the calendar and plan on attending our Annual homeowners meeting on 8/23/07. We have lots to discuss and some board positions to fill. Look for the flyer about the Community Notification System coming out any day now. This is something we are pretty excited about and will allow us as a community to keep each other up on any activities either social or security by a direct to you e-mail notification system we are developing. Take a little time on the 23rd of August to listen to what we want to happen in our community and see if you are one of the ones who can help us reach that goal. Hope to see you there, JBD

Crime Watch
Will I need to make a presentation on the Crime Watch at the HOA meeting? The old system had a Crime Watch Coordinator that was the top person-who would notify the 15 Crime Watch Block Captains of any new Crime activity, and they in turn would call the neighbors in their section. Pros for this idea: 1. Is very quick-everyone will get the message in a days time. 2. Any new crime activity noticed by any neighbors is reported to the Captain, who then reports this to the Coordinator. The Coordinator then reports this to all the Captains, and they call all the neighbors in their section. Cons for this idea.: 1. Some Captains didn't call thier neighbors, some did. 2. We aren't seeing people coming forward to volunteer to be a Crime Watch Block Captain, and no one wants to do all the notifying for both subdivisions. New idea-Community Notification System Pros: 1. People can just check their email daily, and they will be aware of any new crime watch activity. 2. Very quick to get information out. Cons: 1. Not everyone has an email address, so we will need a way to notify these people. Can anyone else think of pros and cons for this issue, so that we can have a good discussion, and make a wise decision at the HOA meeting? |

Thanks Karen
Karen, again thanks for keeping this alive. You have been the motivating factor behind this Crime Watch movement and we applaud you for your efforts. I completely support you and your efforts. This is a program that we as an entire neighborhood need to get involved with, not just the board of directors but the people outside of the board. As I stated in the most recent newsletter only about 7% of our neighbors are involved in any activity concerning our neighborhood. The Crime Watch should be the opportunity for those individuals that are not currently involved to become involved and therefore become a viable participant in the improvement and safety of our community. We are currently asking our neighbors to get involved and this is the perfect opportunity for them to do so. If we as a board can offer any resources or support, please let us know. I am looking forward to your presentation in conjunction with the representative from IMPD at the annual meeting. |

location of meeting?
Where in the school is the meeting? I have very young kids, and so I am not familiar with this (or any other) school. Will the meeting be held in the gym? What side of the school (North, South, East or West)? And how long do they typically last? Thanks! By ELT |
