Curiously, I would like to know how others handle a salesmen at their door? Being aware that not all are truely ''salesmen'', most of the time I just don't answer my door. But, still I think that it is a good point to discuss. Even though we have the ''No Soliciting'' sign, they still come. One was even here ringing the doorbell and knocking today.

sales
I just say ''no thank you'' and shut the door. If it is a kid in the neighborhood, I usually buy something. But I don't feel obligated to answer the door if I don't feel like it.

salesman
I work from home and have also experienced salesman ringing the door and knocking. One guy even left his half full coke can on the door mat. I don't think the ''No Soliciting'' sign works. We don't answer the door unless it's someone we know or kids in the neighborhood.

The Doorbell
I disconnected my doorbell about two years ago because regardless of how many no soliciting signs you have posted there will always be solicitors. I have two rather large dogs that would just love to eat the solicitors and raise all kinds of hell when the door bell rings, so eliminate the door bell. I am working on a device now that I will hook up that when the door bell is pressed it will ring with a special announcement outside like a scream or lion growling so the person ringing the bell can hear it but I don't hear a thing, ring on dude.
