Does anyone know anything about the house fire that happened July 4th over in Countrybrook? It was never on the news and we were wondering how it started. Very scary to see that so close to home!

I went over there Sat. and a neighbor told me that he heard that it started as a grease fire. The houses on both sides are affected. Someone told me that the house was burned completely down, but it didn't look so to me. It does however, look like a complete loss. I purchased the new fire alarms and I rarely cook, but this is very scary.

on the Fox 59 website they said that they think it was started by fireworks. The family was away at a fireworks display. This is why if we see kids playing with fireworks we should tell them to stop or call the police. It is illegal to use fireworks if you are under the age of 18. I know that we reported kids underage putting off fireworks in our neighborhood, but nothing can really happen unless people stop putting up with these kids doing things that are illegal and dangerous to all of our properties.
We as a community need to band together to get these young children who don't seem to have any concept of respect for themselves or property to stop. I understand that each of us is afraid for our property and the retalition that might come from reporting such children. However, I am sick of allowing kids who repeated are a nusance and I no longer will put up with it. I hope that more people in the neighborhood will start standing up for their property and stop allowing these kids to do whatever they want in this neighborhood.

House Fire

This is what I was afraid of...that it was started with fireworks. We were away most of the evening and came home around 11pm. There were so many kids out in the street and fireworks going off every where. Then, we saw the fire because that house is not far from us! It scared us to death and were hoping no one was hurt. We definately agree! We do all need to stand together and stop these kids in this neighboorhood.
