At our last meeting on June 12, 2001 several members expressed concern about the speeders in our neighborhood area and about recent thefts, burglaries, etc.
We are setting up some meetings to revitalize our Neighborhood Watch involvement. We have several contacts and resources available to us and will leave no stone unturned.
We currently have a list of 21 interested in becoming more involved. We will need a Block Captain for every block. Within each block we will need as many Block Watchers as we can get. We would like to come as close to 100% involvement as possible.
This does not involve going after anyone, or even leaving your home. We do not want you in any way to subject yourself to anything that is unsafe.
Do you want to help? Become another pair of eyes to see? Know what to look for? Help the Jacksonville Sherrif's Office protect our neighborhood? Know what to do? LET US KNOW.
There are several things you can do in your own yard and home to make your residence safer. A JSO Officer can come to your home and show you what you can do to deter crime. We will be working with JSO to coordinate surveys in our area. Do you want one? LET US KNOW.
Do you have driving teens or are you sometimes heavy footed yourself? Watch out! Tell your teens to watch the speed limit! JSO is aware of the problem of speeders in our area and will be patroling more frequently.
We are getting a preliminary package of information together for the 21 who signed up at our General Meeting. We will have other information available to hand out as it becomes available. We will be having Block Watcher's Meetings and Block Captain's meetings.
August 7th is National Night Out. Let's be on board this year! BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION!
Come be a part of protecting our neighborhood from crime. LET US HEAR FROM YOU.
