The light on the corner of BlueStream and Antler Hill Drive is out and has been out for several weeks. When can we expect it to be replaced and in proper working order?

Lighting
The light should be maintained by the neighborhood association (this is what we pay the big bucks for). But while we're on the lights topic, let me say that EVERYONE should be keeping their front porch lights on at night. A criminal's biggest fear, obviously, is getting caught. If the whole neighborhood is lit up, the criminal is basically working in a spotligt, and has a much greater chance of getting caught. Motion sensor lights are also a great item to have for the side and rear yards. The best defense you can have against residential crime is to imagine yourself as the criminal. If you were trying to sneak up to a house to commit a crime, what methods would you employ? If it's totally dark and there are a lot of shrubs, trees, cars, shadows, etc. to hide behind, you wouldn't have that tough of a time. Also, keep your lawn well maintained. You'd be surprised to know that this makes a huge difference. If a burglar sees that the resident is maintaining his or her yard well, he knows that the resident genuinely cares about the property. And he is much more likely to take notice to any activity occurring on his or her property. The moral is, KEEP YOUR FRONT PORCH LIGHT ON AND MAKE THE FRONT OF YOUR RESIDENCE LOOK NICE! There's nothing we can do to eliminate the possiblity of crime occurring at hour houses, but we can sure make it a less attractive target for those dirtbags! By Bill |
